Kindergarten Five
We offer an accelerated curriculum for the child who is eager and ready to learn. Average and above average children can attain this academic standard.
Phonics: A basic program of phonics is taught to all five year old children. We use the Bob Jones Curriculum and the word family concept.
Reading: Reading is introduced to all students. Many of the children are reading by mid-January.
Writing: Pre-cursive manuscript is taught.
Spelling: All children are taught to spell phonetically.
Math: Both the meaning and writing of numbers are taught. All children learn to write their numbers from 1-100. Some children learn numbers beyond 100. The children also learn their addition and subtraction combinations.
Music: Music is taught on a weekly basis.
Computer: Students are exposed to the computer lab weekly.
