Hispanic Pastor – Rubén Cortés

Pastor Cortés received his bachelor’s degree in 1984 in theology from Seminario Biblico de Puebla, in Puebla, Mexico. He has served various roles in Christian ministries for over twenty-five years, including pastor, college professor, hospital chaplain, Christian radio announcer, and newspaper reporter.
Born in a Christian home in Cananea, Sonora, Mexico, Pastor Cortés received Christ as his personal savior when he was twelve years old. His father, who was his Sunday School teacher, led him to the Lord thirty-six years ago. He married Luz Maria, in 1985. She worked as a CPA while living in Mexico.
Pastor Rubén Cortés began serving as Pastor of Bethel’s Hispanic Church on Wednesday, June 1, 2011. He, along with his wife, Luz Maria, and nineteen-year-old son, Rubén, moved from Tucson, Arizona, where Pastor Cortés served as pastor of the Hispanic Church at Mission Park Baptist Church. His daughter and son-in-law, Dulce and Danny Garcia, are already members of Bethel. Pastor and Mrs. Cortes also have one grandchild.
